Kennedy are often two of the first two spring to mind. It is no surprise their words have stood the test of time and resonate with us still today. Abraham Lincoln’s legendary ‘House Divided” speech was delivered on June 16, 1858 when he was serving as a senator for the state of Illinois. He believed that unity was an essential trait for success. He believed that true strength laid in stability. He believed that irreconcilable differences within a country could lead only to disaster. Political parties and organizations may disagree, but it is essential for them to strive to find some middle ground.

This specific quote again addresses unity and equality. He states that America cannot be considered a good place to live in for anyone unless it is a good place to for everyone.
