The Benefits of Using Public Transportation

December 3, 2015 Hastings and Hastings

Phoenix is no New York City in terms of public transportation, but many people would be surprised by how robust our public transportation system really is. In fact, thousands of individuals depend entirely on public transportation, not just to get to and from work, but to get anywhere. In many ways, you may be better off using public transportation! Public transportation can be a convenient, cost effective, and environmentally friendly way to get where you need to go.

Considering Convenience

Does driving ever fill you with stress? Does traffic give you nightmares? Does parking send you straight up the wall? Why not let someone else deal with all of these problems. By using public transportation, many of the inconveniences of driving can become a thing of the past. As a passenger on the bus you can relax, read a book, or play around on your phone while someone else has to deal with bumper to bumper traffic.

Catastrophic Costs

Owning a car will cost you thousands of dollars each and every year. In addition to monthly car payments, you have to account for gas prices, repairs and oil changes. Car maintenance costs seems nearly endless. What happens when your trusty 2008 Volvo suddenly decides to die on cold winter morning? Now you may have to buy a whole new car! Hopefully you have finished paying this one off. If you opt to use public transportation there is just one cost – that of a simple bus or light rail pass.

Environmental Enthusiasm

Clearly, public transportation can be beneficial for you on a personal level, but did you know it can also benefit the entire world! We are talking good on global level! Public transportation dramatically cuts down on the amount of pollution being dumped into the atmosphere. It also greatly reduces the consumption of fossil fuels.

Next time you are feeling miserable during your morning commute, why not consider public transportation?!
